Janet Smith, APR
Janet is the founder of The Power of Goodwill.
She is a workplace culture consultant who works with leaders, business owners, and managers at all levels, as well as with teams and individual contributors. She is an Accredited Strengthscope Partner and an evangelist for the Strengthscope assessments, and coaching and team-building tools.
Janet worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City for nearly 15 years and was the company’s assistant vice president of public relations when she left at the end of 1998 to start a full-service public relations firm. In 2007 she decided to follow her heart and her true passion, and launched The Power of Goodwill focus exclusively on workplace culture and employee morale.

I always recommended a specific focus on employee morale as part of my plan, and was surprised by how few leaders consider workplace culture issues as an important factor in building, maintaining and enhancing the organization’s reputation and bottom line. That led me to discovering my greatest strength and true career calling — workplace culture consulting.”
Janet volunteers for causes that help the homeless and victims of domestic violence, and is an advocate for the arts. She has a degree in management with an emphasis in marketing from Webster University in St. Louis.
